Dhawa, age 12, is the most helpful, thoughtful boy I've met. With an impish grin, he's the first to help collect supplies or pass out crayons during class. When a new monk is brought to the Gumba, he quickly takes them under his wings. He's smart on the soccer field, too. Dhawa is one of the boys at the monastery who doesn't see his family often.
